Webmaster, I have a question about Flash
content and search engines. I have a Flash site that has been
up for a few months but isn't getting any search engine ranking.
Do you have any idea why this could be?

It's difficult to say without seeing your site,
but if you're referring to the old adage that Flash sites don't
show up in search engines, that once-truism is finally changing.
Macromedia, the maker of Flash, has released a developers' tool
that search engines can license, which then allows the engine
to crawl the site and gather the content. This is great news
for webmasters who have made the choice to seek a richer multimedia
experience over engine rankings.
Google
and AllTheWeb are among
the engines that are able to search text within a Flash movie.
If you are not ranking well on other engines, it may be time
for an overhaul of your site's meta tags and general text to
focus it more specifically on the keywords you are trying to
rank higher for.
